An availability template supplies the days and hours a scheduler can use. It does not create athlete bookings or reserve a coach or resource by itself. Open Scheduling → Setup → Availability to manage templates. Connect them from a scheduler’s Availability section.

Reuse hours across services

One template can supply several schedulers. For example, “Weekday afternoons” can power private lessons and assessments. Editing its weekly hours changes the future available times for both. Use different templates when services need different hours. You can also connect Additional Availability to one scheduler—for example, weekend hours alongside its usual weekday schedule.
Before editing a shared template, check which schedulers use it. A change intended for one offering may affect several. Existing athlete bookings are not automatically canceled or moved.

Choose the type of availability

A scheduler’s start/end dates can further limit when it uses a template. For a planned change between seasons, use dated availability blocks.

Why an available hour may not offer a slot

CoachIQ also checks the chosen session length, start-time spacing, buffers, booking windows, capacity, limits, and relevant coach/resource conflicts. A 60-minute opening does not fit a 90-minute session. An available cage does not make an already-booked coach free. Use the scheduler’s preview or Calendar → Open availability to inspect the result. A simple division of working hours by session length cannot account for every booking rule. A shared specific-date window may fit a shorter linked session without fitting a longer one. See shared availability and different lengths.

What athletes see

Athletes see bookable dates and times, not your availability template. The booking calendar opens on the month of the first available slot, which may be a future month for a seasonal offering. Selecting a different session length refreshes the available times. Your working hours alone do not guarantee that a particular athlete can book every time inside them. Their access, credit eligibility, and booking limits still matter.

What changes do to existing bookings

Changing hours or adding time off changes future booking options. It does not automatically remove sessions athletes already reserved. Review the calendar separately and move or cancel affected sessions. Changing a shared template is different from editing one booked occurrence. See Changing your schedule for the scope of each action.
